Focus 23 - Stridulation

from Open Circuit Transmission 2012 by AIN23

/

about

Stridulation is the process of creating sound from rubbing parts of the body together. Most commonly, this pertains to insects but it isn't strictly defined in relation to them. Often these sounds can be subtle or unheard. Conversely, some insects can stridulate at incredibly high decibel levels, reaching the levels we would associate with passing freight trains. This track explores various aspects of stridulation as they pertain to animals. It is also part of a larger Focus 23 project called The Golden Age. Thank you for listening.
